What Measure Q Means for Area 4

In November 2024, voters approved Measure Q: $698 million in bonds to modernize every college in the State Center Community College District, including major new investment right here at Reedley College. Magdalena helped bring this measure to voters, and now she's fighting to make sure Area 4 sees every dollar it was promised.

  • New classrooms and learning spaces. A $50 million Instructional Complex means more room and better facilities for the next generation of Reedley College students.
  • Real job training, right here at home. $20 million to modernize career and technical education, giving students hands-on training for the jobs already waiting in our own backyard.
  • One place to get help. $45 million for new Student Services, so students have a single, modern location to get the support and resources they need to stay in school and graduate.
  • Safer, more accessible buildings. $20 million to repair and modernize aging facilities, some of Reedley's buildings are more than 70 years old, so classrooms are safe, accessible, and built to last.
  • A new agriculture center and farm store, connecting Valley students directly to the industry that feeds our region and the world.
  • A modernized Aeronautical and Automotive Technology Center, training the mechanics and technicians our local economy depends on.
  • A rebuilt Student Support Services Building, giving students a modern, welcoming place to get help when they need it most.

Still fighting for

These are the causes Magdalena believes in and will keep fighting for on behalf of Area 4 over her next four years on the board:

  • A Wildland Fire Facility, training space for the firefighters who protect our Valley communities
  • A Fine Arts & Music Center student space, room for the arts programs that give Reedley students a creative outlet
  • Athletics Facilities upgrades, better spaces for student athletes to train and compete
  • Student Housing expansion, so more students can live close to campus instead of facing long commutes
  • Campus Gardens & Greenhouses, hands-on learning space for the agriculture programs that define this Valley
