MEET MAGDALENA

Fighting for Families Like Yours

Magdalena Gomez grew up in a farmworking family right here in the Valley. She knows what it takes to make ends meet, and she knows a good education is often the only way out of that struggle. That's why, for eight years, she's fought to bring real resources home to Area 4: new classrooms, stronger job training programs, and a college that actually works for rural families.

Because of Magdalena, more students are graduating from Reedley College and walking straight into good jobs in agriculture, healthcare, and skilled trades. She's protected local jobs, kept costs from spiraling, and made sure our communities are never an afterthought when the money gets divided up.

Magdalena isn't done.   With a proven track record of delivering for State Center Community College District, Magdalena is now running for re-election to a 3rd term at State Center Community College to continue fighting for working families, bringing more resources home to the district, and ensuring our voices are heard in Sacramento and Washington, DC.

Magdalena works to expand access to higher education and invest in career training that leads to good-paying jobs, growing programs in agriculture, nursing, fire, law enforcement, construction trades, and emerging technology, while expanding dual enrollment and building partnerships with local employers.

Accessibility & Affordability

Workforce Development & Career Technical Education

Because a quality education should not depend on income. Magdalena is focused on expanding access to student housing, transportation, and mental health counseling, reducing food insecurity, and championing free educational resources (OER) and campus food pantries like Clyde's Closet.

A Fair Share for Reedley College

A Fair Share for Reedley College

Rural community colleges like Reedley are too often an afterthought when state and federal dollars get divided up. Magdalena has been a proven advocate for making sure Area 4 gets its fair share, and she'll keep fighting for it.
